I moved to Longmont about 6 months ago from California with my husband and two year old son. I am going crazy here….I am only 23 and can find anything to do here in town that is fun for me and my husband. ANY IDEAS….Bars, Resturants, ANYTHING?

1. Do you borrow from a bank exactly how much the home is worth or you can see a home of 200000 and borrow 250000
2. When you decide on a home, does the bank give you the money to pay the sellers or they pay them directly on your behalf
3. If the money you borrow happen to be higher than the home value, what happens to the remaining
I guess the question is, how does home loan work?

I have been called by a recruiter for a job at the longmont meat plant. It seems like a lucrative position with good pay. Has anyone actually worked there or have family members that have worked there? I would like to know what the general word on the street is about the plant (which is a Cargill plant) before I get called for an interview. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I am having a traditional loan application with a big bank. I just found a small bank in Florida, founded in 2004, is offering better rate and cost compared to those big famous banks. The small bank is member of FDIC. Somebody told me small bank may not follow federal regulations. How do I tell if a bank is a qualified home loan lender that follows all lending regulations? What is the risk borrowing home loan from a small bank?

Is there a lot of traffic during rush hour? Are the elements a problem during the winter? The drive does not go through the mountains, right? Any steep grades?

Now I have to look out for a home loan. I am looking at several online interest rate quotes what lenders are giving based on my facts.
Some of them are sending quotes for 4.78% 4.5% , now does these rates change when we actually sign there application or do they have to stick with the rates what they have quoted me online ?
